Review – Benefits Cosmetics Instant Brow Pencil

Hello Bloggers! I know I have been MIA for a while and I apologize for that. I have been dealing with some computer issues that have finally been resolved! I have had the pleasure of trying out some new products over the past couple of weeks and thought I would do a review on a one of them! Lets get started.

I purchased Benefits Cosmetics Instant Brow Pencil back in February and was actually quite excited to try it out as I was in desperate need of a new brow product. Usually I fall in love with Benefit products, but this one was quite hard to even get myself to use it once or twice a week so I could give you guys a proper review of the eyebrow pencil.

I do love the packaging of this product, and really enjoy the fact that it comes with an excellent brush (which is the only reason I am keeping this product around). I purchased this product from Sephora for $32 and can say after using it for two months, I will not be repurchasing this product unless they fix the formula.

This product is basically a tinted wax and it tends to run out very quickly.
Having to sharpen the pencil after every use is a huge inconvenience as well as it uses up most of the product. It is a really soft and waxy product which makes it hard to apply and have a defined brow. I find that is clumps together after a while and falls down all over my face while applying.

Overall I am actually quite disappointed in this product and would not recommend it to someone who has naturally thick and full brows, as I do. This is a pricey “high end” eyebrow pencil that isn’t worth the money or the hype that it has.

I hope you enjoyed this review. I am once again in search of a new brow product! Let me know what you use in the comments below! Thank you for reading/following my blog! It means the world to me! If you liked this post, make sure you let me know in the comments below, or by liking this post!

Spring Skincare Routine

Hello Bloggers! I have been seeing a huge improvement with my skin after altering my skin care routine. So today I am going to be sharing with you exactly that! I have very dry and acne prone skin, so I have been playing around with a few products trying to see which of them work best for me. I hope you guys enjoy! Lets get started!

The first thing I do is wash my hands. Cleaning your face with dirty hands really defeats the purpose, because you are spreading around any germs and/or bacteria that might be hanging around on your hands. I then put my hair in either a bun or a pony tail to keep it out of my face. Next I remove my makeup. I like to use Clean and Clears Soothing Eye Makeup Remover to remove any eye makeup I may be wearing that day. I use a little bit of this on a cotton pad, and gently apply to my closed eyes. To remove my face makeup, I take the Aveeno Positively Radiant Makeup Remover Wipes all over my face. I will then wet down my face and wash it using Clarisonic’s Deep Pore Daily Cleanser on my Clarisonic Aria Advanced Facial Cleansing System. I then pat dry my face.

To tone my face, I have been using Olay’s Oil Minimizing Toner on a cotton pad, all over my face. This helps to remove any dirt or leftover makeup you may still have on your face. To moisturize my face I have been loving Naobays Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing. I apply this all over my face with clean hands. I got this in my February Glossybox and adore it. I use it day and night. It leaves my skin feeling fresh and I can see the difference in how moisturized my face is. I have a review up on this product, I will leave the link down below if your interested in checking it out. I never used to use a under eye serum, but ever since I tried out Benefits It’s Potent! I can’t see myself not using a eye cream again! It’s Potent! fades dark circles and helps to reduce fine lines. Exfoliating lips is probably the most skipped step in skin care routines. Exfoliating your lips helps to to remove all dead skin cells, so new cells can develop normally. I like to use Lush’s Lip Scrub. I always use my favorite EOS ball to moisturize my lips.

I hope you enjoyed my Skin Care Routine. Thank you for reading/following my blog! It means the world to me! If you liked this post, make sure you let me know in the comments below, or by liking this post!

Monthly Favorites – February 2015

Hello Bloggers! It’s that time of the month again where we talk about our monthly favorites! I have had the chance to try out quite a lot of new products. Although, most of the things I am going to be sharing with you are either re-purchased, or something I have been loving for a while. Lets get started!

Makeup Favorites

Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer – This is my new favorite bronzer! I LOVE the packaging, and the product itself is like a mini pick me up because it smells SOO good (chocolatey). I feel like the product will last me forever, I use it daily but I haven’t even made a dent in it! I think it’s a great buy for a shimmer free bronzer with a nice warm undertone.
bronzer
Beauty Blender – I have used beauty blenders in the past, but purchased a new foundation brush, so I wasn’t using the blender. I recently ordered a new one online, because I wanted to start using them again, but mine was very old and needed to be replaced. I forgot how much I love them! You can use the sponge damp or dry, I use it damp, which gives my makeup a beautiful, dewy finish. After I wet it and wring out the excess water, I use a quick-patting motion, to apply and blend my foundation/concealer .

Hair Favorites

Tresume Heat Protectant Spray – I love this product. Ever since I found it about 2 years ago, I haven’t used another heat protectant on my hair. I spray this all over my damp hair before applying any heat to it. To make sure I have distributed the product evenly throughout my hair, I comb through it with a wide tooth comb.

Random Favorites

First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream – I love this moisturizer! I got a sample size of it in my last Sephora order and immediately fell in love. The moisturizer takes a while to be absorbed by the skin, but it does absorb. I love that this moisturizer doesn’t leave behind any greasy residue!

Ultra_Repair_Cream_6oz

John Green “Paper Towns” – I first read this book over the summer last year and loved it. When I heard that they were going to be making this book into a movie, I immediately re-read the book, just to refresh myself before the movie comes out. I love the way John Green writes and I cannot wait to see how the movie ends up, seeing as “The Fault In Our Stars” was a huge success!

Benfit Cosmetics “Hello Flawless” Oxygen Wow Foundation | First Impression/Review

Hello Bloggers! I mentioned in my Sephora Haul the other day that I received a sample size of the Benefit Cosmetics “Hello Flawless” Oxygen Wow Foundation with my purchase. I have had questions on the product, so I thought I would put together a little first impressions/review for you guys! Lets get started!

I had enough product for a 2 days use, which is typically perfect for me to be able to tell if I am going to like the product or not. This foundation is supposed to give you light to medium coverage and last up to 8 hours without smudging or fading. I did find that the foundation was a light to medium coverage, as it covered all my light freckles and hid most of the redness around my blemishes.

The foundation doesn’t make me look cakey, even with setting it with powder. Although the foundation is light coverage, it is a very buildable product which is nice for if you have out of control blemishes! It gave me a nice dewy, healthy, and glowy finish!

I did have a couple issues with the foundation, but they arn’t going to be stopping me from purchasing the full size of this foundation as it looks amazing on my skin! I found that the foundation does not last the full 8 hours on my skin, it faded near 7 1/2 hours. Nothing to terrible, but if I was to wear this foundation for longer than that, I would have to make sure to bring a concealer with me to do touch ups! (Keep in mind that wear time and quality will differ with skin type)

Overall, I do really like this foundation, and would recommend it to anyone thinking of purchasing a new foundation! This is a perfect foundation for anyone wanting a natural look without wanting a bunch of coverage.

Sephora Haul

Hello Bloggers! I was recently shopping online at www.sephora.com and came across some products that I have wanted for a while now, so I ordered them. I am very excited about all the products I ordered so I  thought I would do a haul for you guys. I will have all the products mentioned linked below if you want to check them out. Lets get started!

1. Classic Beauty Blender ($26) – I was looking through all the brushes online and came across the limited addition ‘Red Carpet’ beauty blender and fell in love. My beauty blender is getting a bit run down and I thought to myself; now is as good as any time to re-purchase, so I did!

2. Too Faced Sex and Chocolate Duo ($19) – I love a good duo! This duo comes with the Too Faced ‘Better Than Sex’ Mascara (0.17 oz) and their Chocolate Soleil Matte Bronzer (0.08 oz). This bronzer has been on my wishlist for a while now and I have used the mascara before and loved it, so I thought this would be a perfect duo for me!

3. Fist Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream and Cleanser Duo ($18) – Another duo, I now, I just can’t help myself! This duo comes with FAB Face Cleanser (1oz) and their Repair Cream (2oz). I have used these products many times before and can’t get enough of them. I am near the end of both of these products so I just had to repurchase. If you have been following my blog for a while now, you would know that my love for First Aid Beauty products is endless.

With every online purchase at Sephora, you get 3 free samples added to your order. There is usually around 10 samples to choose from, and can confirm these at checkout. They also usually have promo codes at checkout, which result in another free sample! Who doesn’t love a good sample? I will have the full size links posted below!

1. Benefit Cosmetics ‘Hello Flawless’ Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation – I have never used this foundation before and was very excited when I saw there was a sample size of it! I am definitely a person who doesn’t like to just purchase a foundation without trying it out first, due to my sensitive skin, so this was a no brainer for me! (Full Size – 1oz for $44)

2. Caudalie Make-Up Remover Cleansing Water– This is a product that I have heard a lot of good things about, and I am very excited to try it! (Full Size – 6.7oz for $28)

3. Philosophy Purity Made Simple Face Cleanser – I have used the Philosophy Purity Made Simple Facial Cleansing Wipes and loved how soft they made my skin feel, so I thought I would go ahead and try out the face cleanser to see if there is a difference between the liquid cleanser and the wipes. (Full Size – 8oz for $28)

4. Fresh Rose Face Mask – I have heard a lot of amazing things about this face mask, but have never picked it up, due to the fact that it is pricey. I was soooo excited when I saw the tester for this product! (Full Size – 3.4oz for $72)

Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette Review

Hello Bloggers! I am so excited for today’s post! I am going to be reviewing the new Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Palette. I recently picked this up from Sephora and have been absolutely loving it! You can find the palette at any Sepohra ($53) or online at tartecosmetics ($44). Lets get started!

The packaging itself is some kind of wonderful! The shadows come housed in a purple and gold mirrored compact. It has a generously sized full size mirror inside and is perfect for travel. Inside the box you’ll also find a small card with simple to follow instructions to create two looks using the palette.

tarte-tartelette-palette-review-1

The shadows are organized in rows by their color family. On the top row you will find warm-leaning browns. The second row is where you’ll find your pinks and purples. And the last row is where the cooler-leaning neutrals are found. The 12 shadow create a very subtle, neutral palette, with a hint of color. I do love how having both warmer and cooler tones make this such a versatile palette. I do wish there was a little more variety among the browns. The shadows are smooth, pigmented, creamy, they apply evenly and are very easy to blend out. The shadows don’t crease or fade on me, even after wearing them for long periods of time, with or without an eye primer.

Tartelette-swatches
All in all, the Tarte Tartelette Amazonian Clay Matte Eyeshadow Palette is one of those essential palettes you’ll find yourself reaching for daily. I know I do! It’s work friendly, yet still gives you the ability to create elegant eye looks easily with a beautifully textured shadow formula, that blends like a dream. I would recommend this palette if you are a lover of neutral matte shadows as you could create some beautiful looks with these shadows.

Coconut Oil and Honey Hair Mask | DIY

Damaged hair. We’ve all been there. Blow dryers, products, and weather take a toll on our locks, so I’ve decided to share with you my DIY Coconut Oil and Honey Hair Mask. This mask is quick and easy to create, and it only uses 2 products. Lets get started!

This mask is perfect for repairing and moisturizing damaged hair. All it calls for is one tablespoon of Coconut Oil, and one tablespoon of Raw Honey. I like to heat the mixture up in a sauce pan on medium heat and apply it to my hair warm. This helps the hair follicles open up and absorb the mask. Just add a bit more of these ingredients if you have extra damaged or long hair. The mask can be applied to wet or dry hair, although I’ve found that it’s easier to apply when my hair is wet.

What you’ll Need:
1 tbsp. Coconut Oil
1 tbsp. Raw Honey
Sauce Pan
Mixing Bowl
Spoon
Towel

Steps:
1. Section your hair off and apply the mixture generously from top to bottom, focusing on the ends (where most of the damage occurs).
2. Wrap your hair in a bun and let the mask soak in for 30-40 minutes.
3. Wash the mask out in the shower using your regular shampoo and conditioner routine and voila! Soft, smooth, healthy hair.

New Series — Products I Want To Use Up

Hello Bloggers! The other day I was watching some YouTube videos and came across a series called “Products I want to use up in the month of ______” and thought it was a really good way to use up products you have in your collection that you don’t need anymore. My collection grows so fast, I can’t seem to keep up on using the products before they expire. So, at the beginning of every month I am going to compile a list of 3 products I want to use up for that month. At the end of the month, I will write an update letting you guys know how I did!

For the month of February, these are the products I am wanting to use up:

So, I am the type of person who can’t switch scents. I know that sounds weird, but when I get new perfume, I have to use up the one I am currently wearing before I can start my next one. I have been using Rise by Beyoncé for a while now, and as much as I love the scent, I am ready to try something else! So, I am aiming to use up this perfume in February.

The next product I want to use up is the Macadamia Deep Repair Mask. I have been using this product every Sunday and Wednesday for a couple months now, and I am about half done. I do love this product, but as the seasons change, so does my hair. In the spring, my hair becomes very frizzy, so as soon as I am done using up this product, I am going to be on the hunt for one that will help with my spring frizzyness. If you have any recommendations, please leave them in the comments below!

And last but not least, I want to use up a Lip stick. I have had Rimmel’s Nude Delight lip stick in my collection for at least 3 months. I have so many different nude lip colors; I need to start narrowing them down to only a couple. As much as I love this lip stick, it is going to be the first to leave my collection!
Thank-you for reading! Make sure you follow my blog so you are notified when I post the updates on this new series!
